Gentle introduction to cluster 7

OK, you are new to cluster 7. You might already be a cluster 2 user, or you might be new to the lab.

getting in

  • work with jjiteam at googlegroups dot com to set you an account.
  • if you work on site, comply with all UCSF standards
  • follow login instuctions here Cluster 7

how is it it organized

  • we have types of machines, as follows
  • login01, login02 - get in via these
  • cpu01, cpu02, ... - these run jobs managed by slurm, but you may still want to login
  • gpu01, gpu02, ... - these run GPU and CPU jobs managed by slurm, but you may still want to login
  • home01, home02, ... - these machines hold home directories. use them for small tasks, not big ones
