This is a stub for bioinformatics.


Historically, bioinformatics refers to the art and science of computer manipulation of gene and protein sequences. By its name, however, it should also refer to structure. However, chemical informatics is used for small molecules and structural biology or computational biology for macromolecular structures and assemblies.
