New page

Dr. Abdel-Sattar Omar is Ass. Prof. of Pharm Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy - King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah. He graduated from Al-Azhar University, Faculty of Pharmacy in 1996. He studied his M.Sci. in Egypt 2003 in the field of Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the synthesis of some cyclic imides analogs as potential anticonvulsant activities . He studied his Ph.D. in Egypt 2008 in the field of Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the synthesis of some new oxazolone and imidazolone analogs as potential selective COX-2 inhibitors.
Dr. Abdel-Sattar had a major and active role in establishment and operation of bioequivalence unit, Faculty of Pharmacy Al-Azhar University, Egypt. He has a good practical and theoretical experience in bioequivalence study for the pharmaceutical dosage form, in-vitro pharmaceutical study, stability study for the pharmaceutical dosage form and analysis of raw materials.
Major research interest focused on design and synthesis of potential active compounds using molecular modelling and computer aided drug design. He has a good practical and theoretical experience in applying several methods to design and synthesis active compounds using several laboratories techniques, chemistry and drug search software (SciFinder Scholar), chemistry software (Chemoffice, ISIS Draw), synthesis and analytical laboratory automation such as parallel evaporation and automatic liquid handlers. Dr. Omar has participated in some Medicinal Chemistry research projects sponsored by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST).
