This is a list of machines/servers that we have on our cluster. Additionally, we'll try to keep this page updated with the compatible RAM for each machine (info will be taken for manufacturer manuals)

HP Proliant DL140 G2:

Default: 1 GB PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM 400 MHz, Advanced ECC
Supports: 512 MB, 1 GB, 2GB per slot

HP Proliant DL145 G2:
8 DIMM Slots, Max 2GB per slot
PC2700 DDR SDRAM running at 333MHz
Default: 1 GB PC-2700 DDR SDRAM 333MHz, Advanced ECC
Supports: 512 MB, 1GB, 2GB per slot (Maximum 16Gb)

HP Proliant DL160 G5
example machines: n-8-27.cluster.ucsf.bkslab.org
8 DIMM Slots, Max 8GB per slot
PC2-5300 DDR2 Fully Buffered DIMM 667 MHz, Advanced ECC
Default: 1GB (2 x 512 MBs)
Supports: 1GB, 2GB, 4GB (Supposedly Maximum 32GB but I was able to install 4 x 8Gb sticks)

HP Proliant DL165 G7

PC3-10600R DDR3 Registered (RDIMM)
24 DIMM Slots, Max 16GB per slot (384 GB Registered) 
Supports: DDR3 RDIMM & UDIMM 4, 8, 16 GB RDIMMs.  Advanced ECC and Unbuffered ECC.  Single Rank, Double Rank, Quad Rank.
