This is a list of machines/servers that we have on our cluster. Additionally, we'll try to keep this page updated with the compatible RAM for each machine (info will be taken from manufacturer manuals)

RAM Information

HP ProLiant DL140 G1:
PC2100 DDR1 Registered SDRAM. 2.5V, 64bits wide.  
Must all be same speed.  
4 DIMM Slots, Max 1GB per slot
Supports: 512 MB, 1 GB per slot.  (Maximum 4Gb)
HP Proliant DL140 G2:

8 DIMM Slots, Max 2GB per slot 
Default: 1 GB PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM 400 MHz, Advanced ECC 
Supports: 512 MB, 1 GB, 2GB per slot (Maximum 16Gb)
RAM must be installed in pairs starting from the farthest DIMM slot from CPU.  
HP Proliant DL145 G2:
8 DIMM Slots, Max 2GB per slot
Default: 1 GB PC-2700 DDR SDRAM 333MHz, Advanced ECC
Supports: 512 MB, 1GB, 2GB per slot (Maximum 16Gb); PC3200 Registered ECC DDR1 SDRAM

Bank 1A must always be populated.
DIMMs must be installed in pairs and starting at the bank closest to the processor.
All DIMMs in a bank must have the same part number.
DIMMs on different banks can be of different sizes.
Processor 2 must be installed before banks 2A and 2B are populated.
If processor 2 is installed, it is recommended that bank 2A be populated before populating bank 1B.
Use only PC2-3200 (400 MHz) registered ECC DIMMs in 512 MB, 1 GB, or 2 GB capacities.
The eight DIMM slots are divided into two banks which in turn are assigned to one processor. Together they make up one node.
   DIMM1 to DIMM 4 - Assigned to the CPU 1 socket (U22, the boot node)
   DIMM5 to DIMM8 - Assigned to the CPU 2 socket (U11)

Supports: DDR3 RDIMM & UDIMM 4, 8, 16 GB RDIMMs.  Advanced ECC and Unbuffered ECC.  Single Rank, Double Rank, Quad Rank.
