Ligand based methods

Ligand based methods of ligand discovery are also known as scaffold hopping, and do not require a structure of the target. Instead, they use the ligand, or several ligands, and use either the shape, fingerprints, pharmacophore, or other metrics in order to identify new compounds that resemble the known active(s).
