Log in to n-9-22

For instructions on how to start the public version of SmallWorld, go to the Tomcat on n-9-22 page or look below for a brief explanation

Become root on n-9-22

  su - tomcat
  cd ../tomcat_instance_1/bin
  ./startup.sh

To start the private SmallWorld (i.e. swp), become root and create a screen on on n-9-22 with a useful name such as

   screen -S swp_on_n-9-22

Go to the sw_private directory

   cd /opt/sw_private/

Look in the how_to_start_swp file and run the commands

   export SWDIR=/opt/sw_private
   java -jar /opt/nextmove/smallworld-4.01/sw-ws.jar -httpPort=5010

Make sure the server is up and running and detach the screen.

To start the combined public and private SmallWorld servers (swc), become root and create a screen on n-9-22 again such as

   screen -S swc_on_n-9-22

Go to the sw_all directory

   cd /opt/sw_all

Look in the how_to_start_swc file and run the commands export SWDIR=/opt/sw_all java -jar /opt/nextmove/smallworld-4.01/sw-ws.jar -httpPort=5020 Make sure the server is up and running and detach the screen.
