Fernando Rodríguez is a Ph.D in microbiology from Iowa State University (IA-USA). He is a researcher associated to the Colombian Corporation for Agriculture Research (AGROSAVIA) and the general curator of the National Microbial Collection for Agriculture. Dr. Rodríguez has experience in the identification and molecular study of microorganisms in their environment (microbial molecular ecology), microbial physiology and the development of probiotics for the animal industry. He has been trained in biofilms and microarrays at Harvard University as well as in phylogeny and microbial molecular taxonomy at the STAFF-Institute in Japan. He is currently and invited professor of Molecular Biology at the Military University and Cordoba University, and maintains an active scientific and academic cooperation with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA-US) and the German Microbial Collection (DSMZ-Germany).
